WE SHAPE THE LIFE OF TOMORROW.

Excellence in Welding Training

Education/Training at El-Totuoma International Services Limited Welding Academy is delivered in two (2) comfortable environments, the welding theory is presented in a classroom setting and the practical welding training is presented and practiced on the workshop floor which simulates a workplace environment. We believe this is the best approach in developing good workplace knowledge, ethics and habits.

Brief on our Courses

Basic Welding
(INTERNATIONAL WELDER, IW)

Our welding programs begin with an introductory course covering basic welding and cutting processes. After discussions on welding theory, students are introduced to shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc and oxyacetylene welding, as well as oxyacetylene and plasma cutting. Introductory welding courses give students a firm grasp of basic processes, which they will build upon in more advanced courses.

Pipe Welding

Pipe welding courses refine students’ metal arc welding skills and teach them to weld pipes in horizontal, vertical and horizontal-fixed positions. Classroom discussions focus on pipe layout and the decision- making steps welders go through before choosing which techniques to use on a complex pipe. Students then weld and fit pipes in the shop.

Maintenance of Tugboats and Barges

Once a tugboat is built, there are methodology of maintenance as well and everyday operation of the vessel. This training looks in-depth on the built vessel with the scope of it’s maintenance

Welding Safety

Safety courses familiarize students with safe welding practices. Instructors emphasize safe tool and equipment operation and teach students to set up safe job sites. Safety courses are usually required at the beginning of a welding program so that students can use safe practices in their shop courses.

Drawing and Draft Reading

Welding drawing and draft reading courses cover topics like blueprint interpretation, orthographic projection and freehand sketching. Students also learn to interpret common welding symbols. These courses are offered at the beginning of a welding program so that students can successfully read and draw drafts in future classes.

Sea Diver

We run training on sea diving and marine operations

Metal Arc Welding

Our welding programs provide instruction through individual courses in manual gas metal, shielded metal and manual gas tungsten arc welding, or they may run a class that covers all three techniques. Because students must first understand basic welding and safety skills, metal arc welding courses are typically offered toward the middle or end of a welding program. There is also the option to earn a certificate in Shielded Arc Metal Welding (SMAW).

Design and Fabrication of Tugboats

This is a field that is relativey new in the country. A tugboat or tug is a marine vessel that maneuvers other vessels by pushing or pulling them, with direct contact or a tow line. These boats typically tug ships that cannot move well on their own, such as those in crowded harbours or narrow canals or those that cannot move at all, such as barges, disabled ships, log rafts, or oil platforms. We take the student through the design and construction of such vessels.

Emergency rescue operation

Emergency rescue operation is also a vital scope with the marine industry. We run training on basic operations in rescue within the maritime environment
